Russell Schmidt is a Founding Partner of Benson Residential, an investment and advisory firm specializing in the single-family rental sector. Previously, Russell worked for Amherst Residential as an original member of their off-market acquisitions group. In this role Russell helped build out a team dedicated to sourcing bulk portfolios directly from mom-and-pop SFR landlords. During this period Russell sourced approximately 500 deals totaling over 15,000 homes and $2.2Bn in value. Along with his three cofounders at Benson Residential, Russell is now utilizing his relationships and experience in direct off-market SFR acquisitions to provide sourcing and acquisition advisory services for institutional capital partners looking to enter or expand into the SFR space. Russell holds a B.S. in Business Administration with Special Attainments in Commerce from Washington & Lee University.
